Funkacillin Music

Funkacillin will be puttin' "the stank on it" and bringing the remedy for your funk deficiency! Originally comprised of a group of five Mendocino County musicians who wanted to represent the grittier side of funk, Funkacillan has grown into a six piece group, adding percussion for those essential and intricate Afro-Cuban rhythms to their soulful and funky grooves. James Brown once said, "The one thing that can solve most of our problems is dancing", and Funkacillin aim to put your troubles on the back burner with a mix of originals and old school funk, rock and soul by heavy hitters including The Isley Brothers, Curtis Mayfield, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin and Cold Blood, as well as a few slightly more obscure artists such as Little Beaver, Johnny "Guitar" Watson and Deee-lite, that will have you flashin' back to the days of paisley prints and platform shoes, and get your booty shakin'!.

Funkacillin has performed at noted festivals and events including Ukiah Sundays in the Park Concert Series, Pints in The Plaza, Boonville Beer Festival, Dance For Freedom Music Festival, Long Valley Smoke Out, Mendo-Summer Bash, Laytonville Art Walk, Willits Kinetic Carnivale, and were the featured act at the 2012 Rising Stars Benefit Event.

Quotes:

"NO WAY HOME , cuts cleanly and crisply through the genre clutter with a groove that slices directly to the heart with honest power. Like a sharp needle, it pierces deeply, making it impossible to ignore. This is music with teeth, heart, soul and big brass balls."

We loved you guys! Thanks again for the great grooves.
You can always count on either one of us or both to start a dance floor.
